August already !?!?!

I can't believe it is August!  I would like to say that I have a new photo of the finished basement.  Not the case.  I have managed to clean out  and organize some areas, but I don't want to post pics until it is FINISHED!  However, with my classroom calling and my kids wanting to do some fun summertime things before time runs out, it's not looking good for my poor basement.  Tomorrow, we head to a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.  It is supposed to be sunny and cool so it should be a great day to enjoy the festivities!  Have a good weekend!

Where to start?!?

First, Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful men out there.  You know those men who have helped us achieve our dreams, by supporting us and believing in us, and yes...even putting up with us! My hubby is currently on a two hour drive to pick up our son from a Boy Scout camping trip.  Thanks honey!

Since my classroom is currently off limits for carpet cleaning, I am forced to turn my attention to my house and how to make it run more efficiently.  I find myself doing a lot of my school work at home (no surprise) so I want to set up some spaces to help contain the mess and still allow me to be with family.   That led me to the basement.  I have to begin by reorganizing my scrapbooking area which is not being used.  Once this was started, I realized what a huge project this would be.  You know the kind, where you just know that it would be easier to put up a FOR SALE sign, walk away, and start over!!  Thank goodness my daughter thinks it is fun to organize other people's spaces.  Now if I could just get her to do that to her own room!!  Anyway, I digress, the basement first then the living room.  The ultimate goal is to get the basement ready for furniture to be moved down there so I can rearrange my living room...by Friday.  Wish me luck!  Seriously, look at this mess!  Why must it get worse before it gets better?!?

Here we go!

I have been wanting, no...needing, to do something different to get the creative juices flowing.  Since the year has wrapped up and my mind can focus on the new upcoming year, it seemed like a great time to try this new endeavor.

The name of the blog represents the pursuit of the dreams I have, as a wife, a mother, and a teacher.  It isn't always easy to juggle those roles and it seems that one (or more) has to take a back burner.  I hope that by focusing on the challenges and the benefits I can find that balance and learn to accept things as a part of the big picture.

So....welcome to my journey!
